Education in the largest sense is any act or experience that has a formative effect on the mind, character or physical ability of an individual. In its technical sense, education is the process by which society deliberately transmits its accumulated knowledge, skills and values from one generation to another.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">
Etymologically, the word education is derived from educare (Latin) &#8220;bring up&#8221;, which is related to educere &#8220;bring out&#8221;, &#8220;bring forth what is within&#8221;, &#8220;bring out potential&#8221; and ducere, &#8220;to lead&#8221;.<span id="more-155"></span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">
Teachers in educational institutions direct the education of students and might draw on many subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics, science and history. This process is sometimes called schooling when referring to the education of teaching only a certain subject, usually as professors at institutions of higher learning. There is also education in fields for those who want specific vocational skills, such as those required to be a pilot. In addition there is an array of education possible at the informal level, such as in museums and libraries, with the Internet and in life experience. Many non-traditional education options are now available and continue to evolve.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">
A right to education has been created and recognized by some jurisdictions: since 1952, Article 2 of the first Protocol to the European Convention on Human Rights obliges all signatory parties to guarantee the right to education. At world level, the United Nations&#8217; International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of 1966 guarantees this right under its Article 13.</p>

<p>Bersama ini kami memberitahukan kegiatan tersebut dan mengundang perwakilan tim dari sekolah untuk ikut serta berpartisipasi dalam kompetisi tersebut.</p>

<p>PERSYARATAN PESERTA</p>
<p>1. Siswa SMA/SMK/MA-sederajat<br />
2. Setiap tim terdiri dari 3 orang<br />
3. Setiap sekolah maksimal mengirimkan 5 tim<br />
4. Setiap 1 tim yang mendaftar wajib mengirimkan 1 pembina yang di jadikan sebagai juri luar<br />
5. Membayar uang pendaftaran sebesar 125.000 rupiah/per tim<br />
6. Pendaftaran dilakukan pada hari senin-jum&#8217;at (13.00-16.00) di EDSA IKIP PGRI Madiun (lantai 3) atau dapat transfer di BRI cab.Ngrambe a/n Lina Astuti 6433-01-003895-53-6 setelah tranfer harap hubungivia SMS CP.085735442548<br />
7. Mengisi dan menyerahkan formulir pendaftaran. Jika mendaftar via On-line setelah mentransfer harap mengirim nama peserta dan guru yang akan menjadi pembimbing di edsaikip@gmail.com<br />
8. Pendaftaran dibuka sejak di umumkan dan berakhir pada tanggal 13 juni 2010<br />
9. Bukti pembayaran kwitansi/bukti transfer di bawa pada saat daftar ulang.</p>
<p>PERATURAN PERMAINAN</p>
<p>1. Setiap tim terdiri dari first,second,third speaker dan Replay speech.<br />
2. Masing masing pserta diberikan waktu 6.20.<br />
3. Menggunakan Austral-asian style<br />
4. Dilarang menggunakan peralatan elektronik selama casebuilding &#8211; game<br />
5. Waktu casebuilding = 30 menit<br />
6. Setiap ti wajib mengikuti 3X babk PreEleminasi<br />
7. Motion yang digunakan pada saat prelim 1&amp;2 yang di sediakan panitia, untuk prelim 3-final menggunakan sudden motion<br />
8. Setiap ruangan terdiri dari juri dalam dan juri luar<br />
9. Technical Meeting peserta dan juri luar akan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 19 juni 2010 setelah upacara pembukaan<br />
10. Keputusan juri tidak dapat diganggu gugat</p>

is getting bigger, he said.<br />
Prof Heppell was<br />
speaking to delegates at<br />
BETT, the world&#8217;s biggest<br />
educational technology<br />
show.<br />
Technology revolution<br />
Meanwhile the UK&#8217;s<br />
minister for Schools and<br />
Families Vernon Coaker<br />
reiterated the<br />
government&#8217;s<br />
commitment to putting<br />
technology at the heart<br />
of the school curriculum.<br />
&#8220;Teachers need access to<br />
innovative services. We<br />
must prepare pupils for<br />
the future workplace,&#8221;<br />
said Mr Coaker.<br />
&#8220;Cutting edge<br />
technology is the<br />
cornerstone of our<br />
reforms,&#8221; he added.<br />
The UK&#8217;s Building Schools<br />
for the Future<br />
programme will see<br />
every state secondary<br />
school in England rebuilt<br />
or remodelled over the<br />
next 15 &#8211; 20 years.<br />
But in that timeframe<br />
there could be a big<br />
divide between schools,<br />
thinks Professor Heppell.<br />
&#8220;There is a gap between<br />
the schools that are<br />
doing pioneering stuff<br />
and those simply doing a<br />
shiny version of 19th<br />
century teaching,&#8221; he<br />
said.<br />
Cells and bells<br />
Much of the debate in<br />
the conference centred<br />
around how technology<br />
can be seamlessly<br />
integrated into the<br />
curriculum.<br />
For Professor Heppell,<br />
who advises governments<br />
around the world about<br />
technology policies, the<br />
answer is both radical<br />
and simple.<br />
He thinks schools need to<br />
move away from what he<br />
terms &#8220;cells and bells&#8221;.<br />
&#8220;We have to get away<br />
from the 35 minute<br />
timetable blocks. We<br />
need to reconfigure<br />
schools for a week of<br />
immersion in numeracy<br />
and dress the school for<br />
a learning production,&#8221;<br />
he said.<br />
&#8220;We need much longer<br />
blocks of time and to<br />
allow children to be in<br />
charge of their learning,&#8221;<br />
he added.<br />
One of the ways to do<br />
this is to integrate the<br />
tools that children are<br />
using in their lives<br />
outside of the classroom.<br />
Skyping infants<br />
At Lampton Secondary<br />
School in Hounslow, play<br />
is a significant part of<br />
the school ethos and<br />
children were at the<br />
conference<br />
demonstrating how<br />
games consoles such as<br />
the Wii and GPS devices<br />
can be integrated into<br />
the classroom.<br />
Meanwhile at Cleveland<br />
Junior School in<br />
Redbridge, Year 6 pupils<br />
have been busy designing<br />
their own computer<br />
games.<br />
&#8220;We made a storyline<br />
and introduced<br />
characters and designed<br />
the<br />
backgrounds,&#8221;explained<br />
11-year-old Rezwana.<br />
&#8220;More schools should use<br />
the software because<br />
you can put your own<br />
personal thoughts into<br />
the game,&#8221; added<br />
classmate Pawan, also<br />
aged 11.<br />
The games the children<br />
made were sent to a<br />
nearby infant school<br />
where Year 2 pupils<br />
played them and<br />
suggested improvements<br />
via Skype.<br />
But not all schools are so<br />
keen to embrace<br />
technology. Many still<br />
ban the use of mobile<br />
phones and social<br />
networking sites such as<br />
Facebook.<br />

Professor Heppell<br />
&#8220;Turned off devices<br />

children. Sensible schools<br />
use mobile technology to<br />
their advantage, putting<br />
up a telephone number<br />
about an issue such as<br />
bullying and getting<br />
pupils to text their<br />
views,&#8221; said Prof Heppell.<br />
Teachers may be more<br />
willing to embrace<br />
technology but the<br />
resources are not there<br />
to back them up, a<br />
survey from Intel has<br />
found.<br />
Intel, which has ploughed<br />
£1bn into educational<br />
programmes around the<br />
world over the last<br />
decade, asked 2,700<br />
teachers from 15<br />
countries about<br />
technology in their<br />
schools.<br />
While 98% felt that<br />
technology was critical in<br />
preparing pupils for the<br />
workforce, three<br />
quarters also thought<br />
governments were not<br />
doing enough.<br />
70% of teachers thought<br />
children should be<br />
provided with a personal<br />
laptop but only 3% had<br />
such access.<br />
Home access<br />
&#8220;The worst thing you can<br />
do is give a child a<br />
computer without access<br />
to the internet,&#8221; said Lila<br />
Ibrahim, general<br />
manager of Intel&#8217;s<br />
emerging markets<br />
platform group.<br />
In the UK the<br />
government has just<br />
launched a new scheme<br />
dubbed Home Access to<br />
offer both internet<br />
connectivity and<br />
hardware to 270,000<br />
families on low incomes<br />
by March of next year.<br />
Eligible families need to<br />
apply for a grant and<br />
they will receive £500 to<br />
put towards kit and<br />
connectivity from a<br />
range of suppliers.<br />
The fact that families are<br />
in charge of what kit<br />
they get should mean it<br />
is more successful than<br />
previous schemes, thinks<br />
Stephen Crowne, chief<br />
executive of Becta, a<br />
government agency that<br />
is co-ordinating the<br />
project.<br />
Chris Green was one of<br />
the pilot familes who<br />
trialled the scheme in<br />
Suffolk.<br />
She has seen big<br />
improvements in her son,<br />
Colin.<br />
&#8220;He uses it for homework<br />
and I can access the<br />
school website. I<br />
wouldn&#8217;t be without it,&#8221;<br />
she said.<br />
Colin is about to take his<br />
GCSEs and is thinking<br />
about further education,<br />
something he would not<br />
have contemplated a<br />
year ago.<br />
But not everyone is<br />
convinced the Home<br />
Access scheme is the<br />
answer.<br />

&#8220;We haven&#8217;t done a<br />
great job helping mums<br />
with how to help their<br />
children read and we<br />
need to make sure that<br />
we help them with<br />
computers.<br />
&#8220;Unless that happens it<br />
will be nice to get a<br />
laptop but it doesn&#8217;t<br />
begin to solve the<br />
problem,&#8221; he added.<br />
Schools too need to<br />
adapt or they will find<br />
more pupils rejecting the<br />
current educational<br />
system, he warned.<br />
&#8220;Put &#8216;virtual schools&#8217; into<br />
Google and you get<br />
387,000 references.<br />
Children in the future<br />
will have choices about<br />
where and how they<br />
learn and if schools<br />
aren&#8217;t enticing, pupils<br />
won&#8217;t come.&#8221;</p>

He lived with his mother. Dang Gedunai was a stubborn kid. His mother was sad. Dang Gedunai was her only child but he never made her happy. One day, Dang Gedunai went to the river to catch some fish. “Mother, I want to go to the river. I want to go fishing,” said Dang Gedunai to his mother. “It’s cloudy outside. Rain will soon fall. Why don’t you just stay at home?” said his mother. As always Dang Gedunai ignored her. He then went to the river.<br />
It was very cloudy when he arrived at the river. Soon it was drizzling, but Dang Gedunai was still busy fishing. Later rain fell down heavily. Dang Gedunai finally gave up. However right before he left, he saw something shining in the river. It was a very big egg. Dang Gedunai then brought the egg home.<span id="more-35"></span><br />
His mother was surprised to see him brought a big egg. “What egg is that? Where did you find it?” she asked. “I found it in the river, Mother,” replied Dang Gedunai. “Be careful with the egg. It’s not yours. You should return it,” advised his mother. As always, Dang Gedunai ignored his mother’s advice. He planned to eat the egg even though his mother said not to.<br />
In the morning, his mother was ready to go to the paddy field. Again, she advised Dang Gedunai to put the egg back to the river. Dang Gedunai did not say anything. When his mother left the house, he immediately boiled the egg. Then he ate it. It was so delicious. He was so full and suddenly he fell asleep. He had a dream. A giant dragon came to him in his dream. “Human, you stole my egg! For the punishment, you will become a dragon.”<br />
Dang Gedunai woke up with fear. He was sweating. He felt very thirsty. Later his mother went home. She saw her son panicking. “What happened?” she asked. “I don’t know, Mother. Suddenly I feel very thirsty. My throat is like burning,” said Dang Gedunai. His mother then gave him a glass of water. It’s not enough. He drank another glass, and then another glass until there was not any water left in the house. His mother told him to go the pond. Dang Gedunai drank all the water until the pond was dried. But it was not enough. Then they went to the river.<br />
Again it was not enough. Dang Gedunai knew his dream would come true. He would become a dragon. “Mother, please forgive me. I ignored you. I ate the egg. It was a dragon’s egg. I will change to a dragon. I cannot live with you anymore. I will live in the sea. If you see big waves in the sea, that means I’m eating. But if the waves are calmed, then it means I’m sleeping,” said Dang Gedunai.<br />
Then Dang Gedunai left his mother. He headed for the sea. His mother couldn’t do anything to stop him. She just cried. Until now fishermen don’t want to go fishing in the sea when the waves are big. They know that the dragon is eating. They just wait until the dragon is finished eating and the waves are calmed.</p>

She lived by herself because her husband had long passed away and she had no children. Every day, she prayed so God would give her a child. One night, when she was praying, a giant passed her house and heard her pray. “I can give you a child on one condition,” the giant said to Mbok Sirni, “You must give the child back to me when it is six years old.” Mbok Sirni was so happy; she did not think about the risk of losing the child later and agreed to take the giant’s offer. The giant then gave her a bunch of cucumber seeds. “Plant it around your house.” The giant then left without saying anything else. In the morning, Mbok Sirni planted the seeds. The seeds grew within mere days, and blossomed plentifully.Not longer after that, a big golden cucumber grew from plants. Carefully, Mbok Sirni plucked the golden cucumber and carried it home. With caution and care, she sliced the cucumber. She was very surprised to see a beautiful baby girl inside the cucumber. She then named the baby Timun Emas (it means Golden Cucumber).<span id="more-30"></span><br />
Years passed by and Timun Emas has grew to become a lovely and beautiful little girl. She was also smart and kind. Mbok Sirni loved her very much. But she kept thinking about the time the giant would take Timun Emas away from her. One night, Mbok Sirni had a dream. In order to save Timun Emas from the giant, she had to meet the holy man who lived in Mount Gundul. The next morning, Mbok Sirni took leave of Timun Emas to go to Mount Gundul. The holy man then gave her four little bags, each one containing cucumber seeds, needles, salt, and shrimp paste. “Timun Emas can use these to protect herself,” said the holy man to Mbok Sirni.<br />
A few days later, the giant came to see Mbok Sirni about her promise. “Mbok Sirni! Where is Timun Emas?” shouted the giant. &#8220;My daughter, take these bag with you. It can save you from the giant. Now, run through the back door,&#8221; said Mbok Sirni. But the giant saw Timun Emas running to the woods. The giant was angry. Starved and enraged, he rushed toward Timun Emas. Mbok Sirni tried to stop him, but the giant was unstoppable.<br />
The giant was getting closer and closer, so Timun Emas opened the first bag she got from Mbok Sirni. Inside the bag were cucumber seeds. She threw the seeds, and instantly they grew into large cucumber field. But the giant ate them all, giving him more strength. As the giant was getting close, Timun Emas took the second bag with needles inside and spilled the content behind her. The needles turned into bamboo trees, sharp and thorny. The giant’s body was scratched and bled. “Aaargh, I’ll get you, Timun Emas!” shouted the giant as he tried to get himself out from the bamboo field. He made it and still chasing Timun Emas.<br />
Timun Emas then reached the third bag and spilled the salt inside. The ground which the salt touched turned into a deep sea. The giant almost drown and had to swim to cross the sea. After some time, he managed to get out from the water. Timun Emas saw the giant coming, so she reached for the last bag. She took the shrimp paste and threw it. The shrimp paste became a big swamp of boiling mud. The giant was trapped in the middle of the swamp. The mud slowly but surely drowned him. Helpless, he roared out, “Help! Heeeeelp…!” Then the giant drown and died. Timun Mas then immediately went home. Since then, Timun Emas and Mbok Sirni live happily ever after.</p>
